Persistiny Company

The “Mental Load” describes the invisible work required to keep a family running smoothly - doctor’s appts, homework, after school activities, household administration, etc. Studies show that the overwhelming majority of this work falls to women. This unequal division of household labor contributes to poor maternal mental health, destroys relationships, and is the primary driver of the gender wage gap. Persistiny is building a data-driven solution to tracking, managing, sharing, and leveraging the invisible workload of motherhood. Our flagship product is Tend: Task Manager & Journal, a mobile app that offers women a unique, simple interface to track and value their invisible work. Other productivity apps require users to recall and manually enter tasks, Tend does that work for you with a comprehensive list of caregiving tasks. Tend lightens the mental load mothers carry and gives them a place to acknowledge and value work no one else sees. Women use the data they track to; improve mental health, validate their invisible labor with data, open conversations with partners about sharing caregiving work more equitably and use the work they track over time to fill resume gaps and avoid the motherhood penalty.
