The Hero Science Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to raise public awareness and financial support for basic biomedical research related to increasing our health span and defining the fundamental biological mechanisms that prevent age-related diseases and disabilities. The current healthcare system is doing a remarkable job addressing the diseases of aging, however, doing so without solving the underlying processes of aging produces escalating effects on healthcare spending. We need a paradigmatic revolution to break the cycle of escalating healthcare costs by solving the process of aging. We believe that focusing on restoring the body’s homeostatic capacity (i.e., its ability to operate at a healthy equilibrium) could be the way to revolutionize healthcare.
