Nazarbayev University (NU) is an autonomous research university in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan. Founded as a result of the initiative of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2010 (June), it is an English-medium institution, with an international faculty and staff. The mission of the Center for Life Sciences is to develop fundamental science and obtain new knowledge about the nature and behavior of living organisms, as well as the application of that knowledge to extend life and improve quality of life, thus reducing the burden of diseases.
