Huw Evans
Huw Evans joined BESTrustees in 2014 and represents us as trustee to nine pension schemes and chairs eight of these trustee bodies, three as sole trustee.
His experience as a trustee includes guiding schemes to the closing stages of wind up, the appointment of new suppliers, the implementation of LDI, fiduciary management and buy-in transactions as well as routine projects such as actuarial valuations.
Huw holds the Pensions Management Institute’s Award in Pensions Trusteeship for both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension schemes and is a member of the Association of Professional Pensions Trustees.
Huw worked as a volunteer for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries for many years, including as a member of the IFoA’s Council, chair of its Pensions Board, and member of its Regulation Board.
Before joining BESTrustees, Huw enjoyed a 20-year career culminating in 7 years at Towers Watson where he was an active member of Towers Watson’s teams specialising in pension scheme valuations, mortality, European pensions and professional affairs.
Prior to joining Towers Watson, Huw was part of the management team of a combined benefits consultancy & administration department within Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow.
Huw is a former Regional Organiser for The Pensions Advisory Service in Surrey.
