Paul Kitson
Paul is the head of PwC’s global pension longevity swap and buy-in network. His research and development underpins all of the buy-in and longevity transactions that PwC is involved in. Paul has extensive experience leading large de-risking projects and has previously worked at a buy-in/longevity swap provider.
Paul’s recent experience includes:
Advising the British Airways pension scheme on a £1.3bn longevity and asset de-risking transaction, including all aspects of negotiation with banks and insurers, and communicating the structure to the various stakeholders (company, trustees, union, etc);
Advising on the ITV pension scheme longevity swap with Credit Suisse in 2011 and leading the negotiations with Credit Suisse on behalf of the client; and
Acting as strategic adviser to MNOPF (a multi-billion industry wide pension scheme), where he developed and implemented an initial insurance annuity contract to hedge investment and longevity risks.
